Bristol Dream Kitchen

This Bristol, RI couple lived in their home for over 20 years before they decided to renovate their old, dark kitchen into the kitchen they dreamed about for so many years.

A thoughtful design process developed a plan to transform the kitchen into an open and light-filled space. Moving and removing walls formed the new traffic patterns allowing the dining and living spaces to flow together easily.

The new lighting produced the desired luminosity of the white cabinets. Specialized cabinets maximized the functionality of the space as well as allowing a space to display fine china. The glass tile backsplash provides the finishing touch to the beautiful granite countertop selected for it’s distinctive grain and color.

Other interesting details include a pot filler above and a warming drawer below a professional cooktop, a refrigerator hidden by panels matching the cabinets, and two independently controlled hydronic kick space heaters.

As part of this project, the entryway of the house was rebuilt, windows were replaced, and all exterior trim work changed.
